Crushing, devastating, dark, quite filthy and very very heavy. The guitar tone alone seems to weigh as much as Mount Everest and it flows like lava and rolls like a tank. Short: this is perfect.
Nekrovault sits somewhere between death metal and death-doom, and their take on DM is both crushing and genuinely doomy, with a touch of black metal. Sepulkrator is one of the heaviest songs I've ever heard and Eremitorium is one of the best songs I've heard. Will be jumping on their new EP soon.
Favorite track: Eremitorium.
After the "Obscure" EP and the "Cursed by Ascended Darkness" 7" it is about time to take the next step further into the deepest of vaults... Finally, German necromancers NEKROVAULT have exhumed their first full-length recording! And it truly has been a Festering Peregrination until the Totenzug took form - presenting the band in its darkest and most threatening manifestation, yet.
The less "necro" the recording may appear, the more crushing and brooding are the songs on "Totenzug: Festering Peregrination" - a necessary improvement to fully convey the primal darkness that rests within each of the songs. Musically far more diverse and heavier than before, the album tells stories inspired by grim local folklore, necromancy and - of course - Dis Pater himself... All of these are masterfully visualized by the mighty Misanthropic-Art. A musical and visual monolith of death awaits... join the Totenzug!

Best extreme metal album from the last three or four years. Period. It's unrelentingly intense while allowing room to breathe. Heavy as an anvil on your ballsack, but never sacrificing melody. This music goes somewhere - no static riffing. Buy it in a physical format. The artwork is truly beautiful. dharmalogos
